This image shows Sh 2-106, or S106 for short. This is a compact star forming region in the constellation Cygnus (The Swan). A newly-formed star called S106 IR is shrouded in dust at the centre of the image, and is responsible for the surrounding gas cloud’s hourglass-like shape and the turbulence visible within. Light from glowing hydrogen is coloured blue in this image.

fuckyeahtattoos: This is my second tattoo. The ballerina is from a Salvador Dali and Walt Disney collaboration that resulted in the film Destino. I believe it’s now online if you’re interested. The ballerina and a baseball player essentially fall in love and chase each other throughout a surrealist landscape. For me, she embodies femininity in full force, and the desire to obtain one’s desires. She remains one of my favourite tattoos, even now that I have a dozen.
